The Student Work Placement Program (SWPP+) is providing wage support across Canada to the following types of businesses:

• Food and Beverage Manufacturers (all sectors)
• Colleges/Universities
• Cannabis Producers making Edibles
• Retail Grocery Stores
• Food Related Associations
• Consultants

Hiring a college or university student is both easy and rewarding. When students can learn by “doing” and employers can engage with bright young minds, a work-integrated learning experience is a win-win for everyone. Get that special project done, implement a novel process, create a new website, or sell your products directly to customers — the business growth ideas are endless!

Program Eligibility:

• Be a registered Canadian business or not-for-profit organization located anywhere in Canada
• Provide full or part-time work opportunity at a minimum of 10 hours/week, for a minimum of 4 weeks up to a maximum of 16 weeks
• Provide proof of student placement employment, start date and full wage information
• Student must be eligible to work in Canada and be part of a co-op/internship program
• No limits on the number of placements allowed per company
• Students can be recruited from any discipline (IT, Marketing, Engineering, Food Science, Accounting, etc.)
• Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring terms available

• Canadian employers in the food and beverage processing sector
• Universities and Colleges offering Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) programs
• Students participating in WIL programs
